Have you ever had bliss balls before? They’re a super clean and healthy snack made from a mixture of dates, oats, nuts or nut butter, and other yummy superfoods. They’ve actually become my favorite snack ever to grab on-the-go or when I am craving a small pick-me-up. Not only are they beyond easy to make, but also they give me a great energy boost between meals, before or after the gym, or when the late night munchies hit. I make them all the time and these vanilla maca bliss balls top my list of favorites!
There are only 4 ingredients in these energy bites.
Gluten-free rolled oats and dates make up the base and then I added vanilla and maca for more flavor. If you haven’t tried maca powder before, it’s a great nutrient-dense source of amino acids and minerals. It comes from the maca root which has been used for nourishment and healing by Andean societies for thousands of years.
These bliss balls are raw, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and refined sugar free. Plus they’re packed with ingredients that will leave you full and satisfied. So don’t let their size fool you!
You could call these “energy balls” or “energy bites” but I think the name bliss balls fits them best.
After I eat them I always feel good and extra happy! I have a thing for snacking and finger food so I keep a batch in my fridge at all times.
If you’re busy and always rushing around, it can be hard to stay healthy.
Trust me I totally get it. The one thing I hear most often from people is they don’t have enough time to cook healthy meals. So here’s a solution for all you busy bees out there! I try to avoid packaged foods as much as possible, so bliss balls are a simply delicious substitute.
These vanilla maca bliss balls would be a great road trip snack too!
Here in L.A. I was thinking about Coachella this weekend and it hit me. Now whenever I’m traveling, going on a quick getaway, or heading to the airport for vacation, I’m going to be sure to pack these along for the ride. Feel free to add in whatever different superfood powders or flavors you have handy. They’re so versatile and impossible to mess up. So have fun with it!

Can these be made in a blender? I can’t afford to purchase a food processor. Thank you
Hi Nikki! Yes, you can definitely make it in a blender 🙂 I’d just ensure it is a high speed blender!
