Valentine’s Day Flowers

Happy Valentine’s Day lovers! My husband and I just celebrated our six year anniversary. Yes, our first date was on Valentine’s Day, as cheesy as that sounds it’s true. We should technically only be celebrating our wedding anniversary now. But oh well, doesn’t hurt to celebrate our love in as many ways as possible! Julian got me with this stunning bouquet, delivered straight to our apartment with the sweetest message attached!

I’ve grown to have such a different take on Valentine’s Day. It’s all about love, in all its different forms. Not just for us married folk! I’ve been dying to throw a Galentine’s Day party with my girl friends in Hong Kong, but just didn’t get my shit together in time. Don’t forget about self-love, showering yourself with affirmation and happy thoughts. For me, it involves a bubble bath by candlelight, a vanilla latte, and a sappy rom-com or classic animated movie.

Now about me and my hubby. We decided to keep it very low-key and totally “us”. Julian surprised me with this beautiful lover’s isle bouquet which was so perfect for me. I love how different it is from your traditional bouquet of roses, more bohemian and wild. The blooms are a mix of deep purples, rich red, and soft blush. Totally my style!

It’s named after a Celtic saint’s wish to protect lovers.

We had a normal work day, then ordered our favorite takeaway food from nood food for dinner. We’ve been loving their daily fresh protein boxes lately, which come with two veggies or salads. They’ve got delicious sauteed cabbage and mashed sweet potato, and hubby loves their caesar salad. I am the biggest fan of their vanilla chia pudding.

Then we headed to the carnival by the Victoria Harbourfront to play games and go on rides. It’s one of our favorite things to do in Hong Kong this time of year. We played darts, a couple of throwing games, went in the fun house (Julian’s reactions there were priceless), went on the swings, and laughed a lot. When we got home, we watched Shrek. Best Valentine’s Day ever!
